After two years of organizing Chic & Craft project, it is time for it to come to the end. On the day of 21-22th February, the international Chic & Craft team met in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was the second coordination meeting and we had the opportunity to discuss about the implementation of the pilot experiences. We had the opportunity to discuss the pilot experiences that are taking place in all 5 countries, their results and to find out existing problems. Almost all of the pilot experiences are going to be done until the end of April.
As we are in the middle of the training course, our trainees have produced several fashion products made from recycled materials. Some of the partners have decided to start selling them in pop-up stores, even when we still didn’t finish the Chic & Craft course. This is the case of INTRAS Foundation; they have opened a pop-up store in the village of Toro (Zamora) where they are implementing the course. The name of the store is “UN PUNTO DE LOCURA” (a point of madness) and it is placed in the main shopping street of the town.
Wikipedia describes the social skills as follows: “A social skill is any skill facilitating interaction and communication with others. Social rules and relations are created, communicated, and changed in verbal and nonverbal ways. The process of learning these skills is called socialization”.
The second issue of the Chic & Craft newsletter has just arrived! Here you can find an article about the training of the trainers that took place in Spain last September and an overview of the Chic & Craft course in the five participating countries. We take this opportunity to wish you a very creative year 2017 full of upcycling ideas and happiness!
Creative events or workshops can be educating, entertaining and improving for all: facilitators, mentors and the rest of participants. Sharing experiences and ideas, learning from each other can be a great way to discover more. However, we need to bear in mind that some common problems and challenges might occur during this fun and creative process also. Special psychological exercises have been developed within Chic & Craft in order to reduce the risk of such problems and help to improve several areas.
